Rani Cohen, Managing Director and Co-Founder,

Rani Cohen, Magnolia Capital Chairman and CEO, has been involved in numerous exits for technology companies in Israel, Europe and the United States, including several successful public offerings and mergers and acquisitions. Rani has extensive hands-on experience with start-up companies, including raising funds from top-tier VC firms and launching their U.S. operations. He previously served as the President and CEO of HyperRoll, a software company (backed by Sequoia Capital, Greylock and Bessemer), and as Chairman, President and CEO of Transparency Software (backed by Pitango and Lightspeed), a company which he founded and for which he still serves as Active Chairman. He was formerly Managing Director of Mofet Venture Capital and Aurum-SBC Ventures, where he led investments in a number of successful companies. Prior to becoming a venture capitalist, Rani held executive management positions at Nexus Telecommunications (EVP Sales and Business Development) and BVR Technologies (VP Business Development). In addition, Rani previously worked as an investment banker in the Technology M&A Group of Credit Suisse First Boston in New York. Rani served as a fighter pilot in the Israeli Air Force.
He holds a B.Sc. in mathematics and computer science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and an MBA from Yale University.
In his free time, Rani is an avid kite surfer and enjoys reading quality literature and learning Chinese.
