Maxwell Peek

Mr. Peek is CEO and Managing Principal for Magnolia Capital, a nationally focused multifamily investor based in Chicago.

Prior to founding Magnolia Capital, Mr. Peek was an Executive Vice President at Waterton overseeing the Eastern US investment team and also focusing on new business development.  Throughout his tenure at Waterton Mr. Peek has been responsible for the acquisition and disposition of over $2.5 Billion in multifamily properties nationwide, including equity and debt level transactions.  Mr. Peek led the company’s innovation efforts and served on the Board of Directors for Elmspring, a real estate technology accelerator that Waterton partnered with to promote disruptive technologies in the real estate industry.

Mr. Peek is a member of the National Multi Housing Council (NMHC), where he is Vice Chairman of the Tax Committee, and is a former Co-Founder and Vice Chairman for the NMHC Emerging Leaders Group.  Mr. Peek is a member of Urban Land Institute (ULI), serving on the Multifamily Bronze Product Council, and serves on the Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association (WREAA) Board of Directors and the Wisconsin School of Business Alumni Board of Directors.  Mr. Peek is on the advisory board for a number of real estate technology startups.  Mr. Peek is a past member of the Associate Board for Children’s Oncology Services, Inc.  Mr. Peek was named to the 2015 RE Forum 40 Under 40 List for the national commercial real estate industry.

Mr. Peek received Bachelor’s Degrees in Real Estate & Urban Land Economics and Finance, Investments & Banking from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
