Mr. Peek is CEO and Managing Principal for Magnolia Capital, a data-driven, tech-enabled vertically integrated real estate investment manager based in Chicago.
Since inception in 2016, Magnolia Capital has had oversight of over 6,600 units in 14 different markets throughout the country, representing $1.8 Billion in AUM. Magnolia has invested more than $560 million of equity on behalf of multiple institutional and private capital partners. The company has corporate offices in Chicago, New York, and Munich, and is currently pursuing institutional value add and core plus investment strategies within the United States.
Prior to founding Magnolia Capital, Mr. Peek was an Executive Vice President at Waterton overseeing the Eastern US investment team and focusing on new business development. Throughout his career Mr. Peek has been responsible for the acquisition and disposition of over $5.5 Billion in multifamily properties nationwide, including equity and debt level transactions.
Mr. Peek has a long history of supporting technology and innovation initiatives, including serving on the Board of Directors for Elmspring, a real estate specific technology accelerator. Mr. Peek currently serves as an advisor for multiple technology companies in the real estate industry.
Mr. Peek is a member of the National Multi Housing Council (NMHC), where he was formerly Vice Chairman of the Tax Committee, and is a Co-Founder and former Vice Chairman for the NMHC Emerging Leaders Group. Mr. Peek is a member of Urban Land Institute (ULI), serving on the Multifamily Bronze Product Council. Mr. Peek is Co-founder of the Teton Apartment Summit, and is a past board member of the Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association (WREAA), the Wisconsin School of Business Alumni Board, and Children’s Oncology Services, Inc. Mr. Peek is a current member of Young Presidents Organization (YPO). Mr. Peek was named to the 2019 Crain’s 40 Under 40 in Chicago, and Real Estate Forum’s 2015 40 Under 40 List for the national commercial real estate industry.
Mr. Peek received Bachelor’s Degrees in Real Estate & Urban Land Economics and Finance, Investments & Banking from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Mr. Peek was a Men’s Basketball varsity letter winner and academic All-Big Ten recipient.
